The Waycon lift shaft is a pioneering precast concrete lift shaft that has radically simplified lift installations. It is designed to suit any individual requirement and conforms to all lift car assemblies.

All Waycon lift shafts are bespoke products and can be configured to suit any project. Precision engineering means that when the lift shaft arrives on site, sections are quick and safe to install.

STRUCTURAL CORE

The Waycon Struct-Core allows shear cores to be rapidly assembled on site using precast elements, effectively removing the need for site fixed formwork, steel fixing and in situ concrete.

INSTALLATION

From the simplest two storey lift shaft to multi-level stair and lift core modular construction Waycon offers a tailor made, bespoke professional installation service.

STRUCT-CORE

As the standard lift shaft, Struct-Cores are as standard designed to support all loading from the lift equipment during installation, operation and maintenance. Struct-Cores are also designed to support lateral loads from the main structure as supplied by the client’s engineer. The Struct-Cores are also designed to support loads from adjoining beams and slabs.

STAIR CORE

The Stair Core is a pioneering product that radically simplifies the installation of stairwells within structures.

Using the same principles as the Lift Shaft systems the Stair Core allows stairwells to be quickly erected on site to close dimensional tolerances.

The Stair Cores consist of precast box sections with internally fitted precast stairs and landings. If required the units can be designed to act as shear cores, using the same post-tensioned system as the smaller Struct-Core.

The Stair Core can be configured to suit any project, if required the cores can be combined with Lift Shafts and wing walls to create larger core structures.

PRECAST MODULAR CONSTRUCTION

The Waycon system provides an easy to assemble modular solution whereby concrete sections are stacked one on top of the other, reducing on-site time and costs. Manufactured to the highest standards in controlled factory conditions, the lift shaft fully complies with all relevant safety standards and codes of practice, and has been designed to minimise health and safety issues on site as well as environmental impacts.
